Using the letter 'N' as a constraining parameter, I was asked to come up with words that best described my thesis and to display them in a visual manner. I decided to use Flickr to generate images that correlate to the words that I type into the search field and picked the first one that appears under that word. What resulted was an array of disconnected and seemingly random photographs on the front side of this fold-out poster, while the dates and names of those who uploaded those images onto the Flickr network appear in its mirror location on the back. I decided to retain the names of the individuals who uploaded these photos as part of what gives meaning to the images even though their identities have been truncated to merely Flickr usernames. It seemed appropriate to tap into this giant photo network to generate a more personal and perhaps less conventional take on what those words could mean.
